Cathay Pacific names Martin James Murray as Finance Director

The current Deputy Finance Director of Swire Pacific Limited will succeed James Edward Hughes-Hallett who will quit his post on Nov. 18.

The Board of Directors of Cathay Pacific Airways Limited (the “Company”) announced that Mr. James Edward Hughes-Hallett has resigned as Finance Director of the Company.

Mr. Martin James Murray has been appointed as Finance Director of the Company, such resignation and appointment to take effect on 18th November 2011, according to a Cathay Pacific report.

Mr. Hughes-Hallett has confirmed that he is not aware of any matter relating to his resignation that needs to be brought to the attention of the shareholders of the Company. He has also confirmed that his resignation is due to his decision to relocate to the United Kingdom, and that he is not aware of any disagreement with the Board. The Board would like to express its gratitude to Mr. Hughes-Hallett for his outstanding contributions and wise counsel during the past two years since his appointment as a Director of the Company on 12th March 2009 and offers its best wishes to him.

Mr. Murray, aged 44, joined the John Swire & Sons Limited (“Swire”) group in 1995 and has worked with the group in Hong Kong, the U.S.A., Singapore and Australia. He is currently Deputy Finance Director of Swire Pacific Limited (until 17th November 2011). He holds a Bachelor of Accountancy degree from the University of Glasgow and is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland and the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accounts.
