$2.545b control point project awarded
Construction to end early-2018.
According to a report, the Civil Engineering & Development Department today awarded a $2.545 billion contract to build an interchange at Fanling Highway near Kiu Tau and ancillary works for the Liantang-Heung Yuen Wai Boundary Control Point project.
This is the second of the four main civil engineering contracts awarded under the project.
The contract includes the construction of an interchange at Fanling Highway with four link roads near Kiu Tau, and the widening of a one-kilometre section of Fanling Highway near the interchange.
Construction is scheduled to commence this month for completion in early 2018.
The project is to develop a new control point in Ta Kwu Ling and an 11-kilometre dual two-lane connecting road that will link the control point to Fanling Highway, the seventh land crossing between Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
