Hong Kong gallery spotlights local infrastructure

The Hong Kong Planning and Infrastructure Exhibition Gallery in Central showcases the Government's planning proposals and infrastructure projects in engaging ways.

The gallery’s 400-square-metre space has six main sections, each one brimming with interesting facts about Hong Kong.

Gallery Manager Julie Tang describes the exhibits as highly interactive. Children can play with giant sliding puzzle pieces, for example, while learning about local infrastructure.

“Visitors can get more information of our work in preserving historical buildings by simply pressing on the projecting icons on the table. Then the projector will show the related photos and information,” Ms Tang said.

“Most visitors, especially the students, like this kind of presentation, which is more interesting compared with only text and photos.”

The gallery is located on the ground floor of the Murray Road Multi-storey Car Park Building, at 2 Murray Road in Central. It opens daily from 10am to 6pm, but is closed on Tuesdays, except public holidays. Admission is free.

A 45-minute guided group tour is available in English, Cantonese or Putonghua.
