21 building plans get a nod
7 are on Hong Kong island.
The Buildings Department approved 21 building plans in March – seven on Hong Kong Island, six in Kowloon and eight in the New Territories.
Eight were for apartment and apartment-commercial developments, 11 were for commercial developments and two were for community services developments.
Consent was given for work to start on 22 building projects that, when completed, will provide 103,452 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 876 units, and 179,310 square metres of gross floor area for non-domestic use.
The department received notification of the start of work on 11 building projects.
It also issued nine occupation permits, with one on Hong Kong Island, two in Kowloon and six in the New Territories. The gross floor area for domestic use was 5,862 square metres, involving eight units, and 1,704 square metres for non-domestic use.
The declared cost of new buildings completed in March totalled $420 million. In addition, 13 demolition consents involving 13 building structures were issued.
The department received 3,836 reports about unauthorised building works in March, and issued 1,262 removal orders.
