Construction Industry urges developers to enhance working environment
The industry has found it difficult to attract young people to join the industry.
According to the Hong Kong Information Services Department, the government is taking the lead to ntroduce best practices in public works project to further improve the safety, working environment and conditions on construction sites.
Contractors of new public works projects are required to provide shower facilities, storage space and a proper resting area for construction personnel. The government is also encouraging private developers to follow suit and enhance safety, cleanliness and facilities on construction sites.
