Construction works' total value jumped 5.1% to $40.9b
But private-sector values dipped 6.1%.
According to the Census & Statistics Department, main contractors' construction works' total gross value rose 5.1% in nominal terms in the third quarter over a year earlier to $40.9 billion.
After discounting the price changes effect, the total gross value rose 0.3% in real terms over the same period.
The gross value performed at private-sector sites totalled $11.7 billion in the third quarter, down 6.1% in nominal terms over a year earlier. In real terms, it fell 13.1%.
For public-sector sites, the value increased 11.8% in nominal terms over a year earlier to $13.6 billion in the third quarter. In real terms, it increased 10%.
