Hong Kong gives the green light to 11 building plans

Five of these are in the New Territories.

The Buildings Department approved 11 building plans in May - two on Hong Kong Island, four in Kowloon and five in the New Territories.

Five were for apartment and apartment-commercial developments, one for commercial development, four for factory and industrial developments, and one for community services development.

Consent was given for work to start on 11 building projects that will provide 12,633 sq m of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 314 units, and 21,117 sq m of gross floor area for non-domestic use.

The department received notification of the start of work for 10 building projects.

It also issued 23 occupation permits - five on Hong Kong Island, 12 in Kowloon and six in the New Territories.

The buildings certified for occupation have 30,753 sq m of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 1,012 units, and 86,475 sq m for non-domestic use.

The declared cost of new buildings completed in May totalled $3.8 billion.
