‘TDMall on Cloud’ lauded for bringing healthcare within reach
The app was awarded in the Hong Kong Business Technology Excellence Awards 2021.
With the ongoing pandemic, many people are confined to their homes without immediate access to healthcare professionals. Unlike before when making appointments for check-ups was one call away, the limited access to healthcare service has created a barrier for many in seeking professional help.
To address the problem, Tianda Pharmaceuticals Limited has introduced TDMall on Cloud and maximise its capabilities to offer more. The company has been long associated with providing Chinese medicine services and medicinal herbs. Now, with this innovative Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) focused healthcare service platform, users gain access to a wide range of services through just one app.
The app makes use of the Internet, big data, and artificial intelligence in the gathering and analysis of TCM resources globally. It aims to establish the O2O business model of TCM clinics and provide accessible and high-quality TCM healthcare services to the world. Phase 1 of the app was launched in December 2020.
The TDMall on Cloud app was awarded the Mobile - Healthcare Technology Award in the recently concluded Hong Kong Business Technology Excellence Awards 2021. It recognised the efforts of the company in introducing virtual consultations between Chinese medicine practitioners (CMPs) and patients, providing automated diagnostic functions, and a built-in online shop to deliver products straight to the user.
Through its Online Consultation and Cross-border Joint Consultation feature, the app seamlessly connects CMPs with patients. This enables consultations to be conducted through online text, visual messaging or video calls.
The company considers this a major technological breakthrough as it has revolutionised the traditional mode of clinical consultations from having one-on-one sessions to being able to cater to multiple experts in TCM across regions without being concerned about travelling and scheduling requirements. This has improved the overall treatment efficiency for patients whilst eliminating the risk of getting infected in any social contact.
Based on its current records, over one hundred CMPs in the Mainland, Hong Kong, and Australia are using the app.
Another salient feature of the app is the Automated Tongue Diagnosis where users can upload images of their faces and tongues to enjoy instant self-diagnosis service. The artificial intelligence technology applied will analyse one’s hairline, nose colour, lip colour, and tongue colour, shape, and coating before making a simple diagnosis and health advice.
In addition to the above features, users also have access to the Cloud-based TCM Dispensing Cabinet. This smart TCM dispensing platform enables users to order products from the pharmacy and arrange to express home delivery all by themselves. The company also said that patients could submit registered prescriptions through the app to enjoy the full services of the feature.
The app also features an e-shop that regularly provides discounts and offers on a variety of health goods and TCM beauty products.
The TDMall on Cloud has been well received by its users, especially by those living in remote areas or suffering from disabilities. The company is looking to further develop and upgrade the app to provide more healthcare options in the future.
