
Suspect on fake government release caught

Police yesterday arrested a 32-year-old man in connection with the online circulation of a fraudulent Government press release on measures to address the overheated property market.
The Government referred the case to the Police on February 8. Commercial Crime Bureau Technology Crime Division officers arrested the man in Happy Valley for having access to a computer with criminal or dishonest intent.
Officers seized two computers and a mobile phone. The man has been released on bail as the investigation continues.
Police appeal to people to use the Internet lawfully and not to send malicious and fraudulent messages.
