Unobstructed Seaview Mega Site at Quarry Bay on sale
The site is on sale until 7 July at 12 noon.
The remaining portion of inland Lot No. 8590 and inland Lot No. 8723 at Hoi Yu Street in Quarry Bay is on sale through public tender, CBRE announced.
In an announcement, CBRE said the chief executive of the council greenlighted the in-situ land exchange application by the former owner of the lots.
Detailed terms of the proposed land exchange have pending approval of the Development Bureau and relevant departments of the government, CBRE said.
The site area after the proposed land exchange may come to approximately 400,000 square feet. The tender for the area will end at 12 noon on 7 July.
The site has a 270-degree view of Victoria Harbour.
Based on the approved planning application, the proposed development comprises one block of office, four blocks of hotel with 400 guestrooms, on top of a two-storey retail podium.
For Reeves Yan, chief of capital markets and executive director of CBRE Hong Kong, the property is “extremely rare” because it is situated at the only large-scale commercial site at the harbourfront on Hong Kong Island for sale.
“The proposed development is not simply an office or hotel development, but a large-scale mixed-use complex integrating commercial, leisure and tourism uses, which is comparable to the landmark project of the International Financial Centre in Central and is expected to become a new Harbourfront Landmark on Hong Kong Island,” added Yan.
