GDP grew 6.2% in 4Q

This is compared with the 6.7% increase in the third quarter and for last year as a whole, GDP grew 6.8% in real terms.

According to Hong Kong Information Services Department, the report released by the Census & Statistics Department said, net output in all service activities taken together was up 6.2% in real terms.

Net output in the import and export, wholesale and retail trades moderated from 15.9% in the third quarter to 9.4% y-o-y in 4Q in real terms.

However, for last year as a whole, net output was up 15.5% in real terms compared to the 9.4% decrease in 2009. The robust growth last year was in tandem with the marked revival in trade flows and strong consumption demand.
