
Government proposed tax rebate of 75% of salaries tax
The Government has proposed new measures to answer the feedback received since the Budget address.
According to Hong Kong Information Services Department, adult holders of Hong Kong permanent identity cards are will be entitled to a one-off sum of $6,000. For those who will choose to save the money, interest will be paid.
The Government also proposed a tax rebate of 75% of salaries tax and tax under personal assessment. This will be subject to a ceiling of $6,000.
The Financial Secretary agreed to set aside adequate resources to deal with those who may not be able to benefit from the new measures but have special needs. This includes new arrivals.
