Here's why expats still love Hong Kong
Pro-HK website says expat take home income higher in the city.
GuideMeHongKong.com, an information portal providing information about Hong Kong, said the advantages of working in Hong Kong outweigh the disadvantages.
It noted that one important aspect for expats in Hong Kong is that their take home income is usually higher than other countries thanks to Hong Kong's liberal taxation policy.
Hong Kong has the lowest corporate tax rate in Asia and follows a progressive system of taxation for personal income tax.
There are also no taxes on dividend income and none on capital gains. The website said the standard of living in Hong Kong is quite good and the city offers a quality of life that is much better than a lot of leading destinations in Asia.
Hong Kong's advantages are its peaceful society, corruption free administration, high annual packages and policies on taxation, expat visa and potential economic growth. These make Hong Kong an obvious choice for expats and the expensive rents and property process are not enough to deter qualified expats from living in Hong Kong.
