Hong Kong to launch largest US promo next week
"Think Asia, Think Hong Kong" will target New York and Los Angeles.
The US campaign will highlight Hong Kong's advantages for American companies seeking new business opportunities in Asia, particularly the Chinese mainland.
Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying will be among the over 200 senior government officials and business leaders from Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland traveling to the United States for the promotion. The mission includes representatives from 12 business and industry sectors.
The events are expected to attract more than 3,000 US corporate leaders, government representatives, heads of small and medium-sized enterprises, services providers, academics and opinion leaders with a special interest in China and Asia in general.
Think Asia, Think Hong Kong will feature major symposia in New York (June 11) and Los Angeles (June 14).
A series of afternoon sessions will take place in both cities, offering participants marketing intelligence and practical information on how US companies can work with Hong Kong to do business in Asia, especially the mainland.
Topics will include selling to China and throughout Asia, technology opportunities on the mainland, Chinese outbound investment and, in New York, Hong Kong as the global hub for China's offshore renminbi business. In Los Angeles, a special session will focus on entertainment business opportunities in Asia.
