Which sectors saw improvements in unemployment?
The unemployment rate remains at 3.3% for Aug-Oct, same as Jul-Sep.
According to a research note from Barclays, the Census and Statistics Department stated that the unemployment rate stood at 3.3% in Aug-Oct 2015, the same as that in Jul-Sept 2015.
The underemployment rate also remained unchanged at 1.4% in the two periods. The sectors that saw an increase in unemployment include the professional and business services sector (excluding cleaning and similar activities), information and communications sector and retail sector.

Sectors that saw a decrease in unemployment include arts, entertainment and recreation sector, accommodation services sector and repair, laundry, domestic and other personal service activities sector.
The number of unemployed persons decreased by 3,500 from 135,800 in Jul-Sep to 132,300 in Aug-Oct. The Secretary for Labour and Welfare said that the labour market held broadly stable.
