Consumption vouchers to be disbursed to 6.36 million people
They will receive the first instalment on 7 August.
Around 6.36 million individuals are eligible to receive the second phase of consumption vouchers by instalments starting on Sunday, 7 August, a government spokesperson said.
In a statement, the government said about 6.21 million will received $5,000 worth of vouchers under the 2022 Phase II Consumption Voucher Scheme, which include existing registrants who receive vouchers in Phase I in April and meet eligibility criteria for the second phase, and new eligible registrants who live in Hong Kong via different admission schemes for talents, professionals and entrepreneurs, amongst others, and to study.
They will receive a $2,000 voucher on 7 August.

It added that for the about 150,000 new eligible registrants who are permanent residents or new arrivals, they will get $10,000 worth of vouchers by instalments. They will receive the first $3,000 on 7 August also.
The government said those who did not meet the eligibility criteria may appeal by applying for review in writing within 14 days after receiving an SMS notification.
About 150,000 applications for review, excluding duplicated applications have been received by the Secretariat, most of which came from those who have submitted valid claim requests for early withdrawal of the Mandatory Provident Fund or benefits under occupational retirement schemes on the basis of “permanent departure from Hong Kong.”
Of the application for review, about 104,000 have been successful, it said. The government said the Secretariat will try to notify the applicants of the review results via SMS within six weeks upon receipt of applications.
Successful applicants will receive the first voucher on 16 August at the earliest, it said.
