Gov’t to to enhance trade services liberalisation with China
The new measures will offer Hong Kong businesses more opportunities in China.
The government and mainland China have agreed to enhance the liberalisation of trade in services under the Mainland & Hong Kong Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement (CEPA).
The new measures will reportedly prioritise Hong Kong's competitive service sectors and provide its enterprises and professionals with more preferential treatment to explore the mainland market and contribute to China’s development.
This initiative is part of Hong Kong’s goal to enrich the contents of CEPA, as stated in Chief Executive John Lee’s 2023 Policy Address.
The finalisation and signing of the new agreement are expected soon, with more details to be announced in due course.
