Hong Kong and Peru finalise FTA, signing planned for this year
The agreement will cover trade in goods, services, and investments.
Hong Kong and Peru will soon ink a bilateral free trade agreement (FTA) following the conclusion of negotiations.
The parties began negotiations in 2023, covering trade in goods, services, and investment.
The parties plan to sign the agreement this year after settling the remaining issues and completing respective internal procedures.
Under the agreement, Hong Kong products, enterprises, and investors will have legal certainty and better access across the Peruvian market, bringing economic benefits to both markets.
In 2023, Peru was Hong Kong's top five merchandise trading partners in Latin America, with the total merchandise trade between markets reaching $5.2m.
