
Hong Kong transforming into intellectual property center
Government forms working group to promote Hong Kong.
A Working Group has been formed to help Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Gregory So find ways to promote Hong Kong as a hub for intellectual property trading.
The Commerce & Economic Development Bureau said the group has been appointed for a term of two years with effect from Monday, and includes intellectual property creators, users and intermediaries, government representatives and the Trade Development Council.
It will advise on overall strategies to promote the development of Hong Kong as an intellectual property trading hub, and will help identify policy and support measures to facilitate intellectual property trading in Hong Kong.
Members of the Working Group have been drawn from a wide range of sectors related to IP trading. They comprise various IP creators, IP users and IP intermediaries, as well as representatives from the government and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.
The Working Group will advise on the overall strategies to promote the development of Hong Kong as an intellectual property trading hub. It will also identify possible policy and other support measures to facilitate intellectual property trading in Hong Kong.
