
InvestHK reports completion of 3,000th investment project
It’s a biodiesel plant at Tseung Kwan O Industrial Estate.
Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Gregory So visited the new biodiesel plant of ASB Biodiesel (Hong Kong) Ltd in Tseung Kwan O Industrial Estate. The plant is also the first completed project from Bahrain.
So congratulated the company on building its new plant in Hong Kong and expressed his appreciation for its vote of confidence by choosing Hong Kong for investment.
ASB Biodiesel CEO Anthony Dixon said the plant's facilities occupy 18,000 square meters, making it the largest biodiesel plant in Hong Kong and also the first in Asia to make use of advanced multi-feedstock technology to transform waste into biodiesel.
So was pleased to note the significant number of job opportunities created during the construction and the operation of the plant. He said Hong Kong looks forward to the many benefits that biodiesel will bring, including recycling some of the city’s waste, improving air quality and reducing carbon intensity.
