Over 2,500 vacancies up for grabs at job fair

Go to Tseung Kwan O on July 16 and 17.

The Labour Department will hold a job fair at Kin Choi Community Hall in Tseung Kwan O on these two days. A total of 38 organizations, mainly from the retail, catering and transport industries, will offer over 2 500 vacancies.

The job fair will be held from 11am to 5.30pm at Kin Choi Community Hall, 6/F, Choi Ming Shopping Centre Extension, Kin Ming Estate, Tseung Kwan O (MTR Tiu Keng Leng Station Exit A1). Admission is free.

Over 80%of the vacancies are full-time jobs. Most vacancies offer monthly salaries ranging from $7,000 to $13,000.

About 96% of the vacancies require a Secondary Six education level or below. Around 64% are open to job seekers who may lack relevant experience and many vacancies are suitable for young people and secondary school leavers.

Job seekers can submit applications on the spot and may be selected for on-site interviews. They can also register for employment services on the spot at the Labour Department's counter.

Nineteen organizations will set up counters and conduct on-the-spot recruitment each day. Job seekers can find more information on the department's Interactive Employment Service website (www.jobs.gov.hk).

The vacancies offered cover a wide variety of positions such as temporary production line worker and packer, customer service associate, building attendant, trolley assistant, sales person, cashier, shop assistant, waiter/waitress, driver, storekeeper and others.
