            Unemployment rate dips to 2.9%
There were 113,600 unemployed people from April to June.
The jobless rate for the April to June period clocked in at 2.9%, a 0.1 percentage point dip from the March to May period.
Based on the data from the Census & Statistics Department (C&SD), the total number of unemployed people from April to June was 113,600.
The unemployment rate fell in several segments, including consumption and tourism-related sectors (-0.2 percentage points to 4%) and the arts, entertainment and recreation sector.
“Unemployment rates in remaining sectors either held steady or increased, but stayed low in general,” the C&SD said.
Meanwhile, the number of underemployed individuals dropped by 2,900 to 41,500, translating to a rate of 1.1%.
