
Hong Kong boosts ties with Cambodia
Investment potential from both parties discussed.
According to a report, financial Secretary John Tsang met business associations in Cambodia to enhance interaction between Hong Kong and Cambodian businesses.
He attended a function by the China Hong Kong & Macau Expatriate & Business Association of Cambodia.
The meeting provided an opportunity for Cambodian business people to learn about economic and trade opportunities in Hong Kong, and allowed the Hong Kong delegation to know about Cambodia's investment potential.
Mr Tsang met National Bank of Cambodia Deputy Governor Neav Chanthana, who outlined the country's latest economic situation. Mr Tsang spoke about Hong Kong's renminbi business, including the use of renminbi in trade settlement services, and both sides agreed to strengthen regulator exchange.
This was followed by a meeting with Cambodia Chamber of Commerce President Kith Meng.
He also attended a lunch hosted by the Chairman of the Association of Banks in Cambodia, Pung Kheav Se.
He then visited a manufacturing factory specialising in knitted sweaters operated by a group of companies headquartered in Hong Kong.
