HSBC appoints Joseph Jacobelli as global co-head of Cleantech and head of utilities
Based in Hong Kong, he reports to Chris Georgs, Head of Equity Research, Asia Pacific.
According to a release, In his new role, Mr. Jacobelli will be responsible for developing research products in cleantech, along with fellow Co-Head Robert Clover in London, and utilities, enhancing HSBC’s global equity research franchise.
Chris Georgs, Head of Equity Research, Asia Pacific at HSBC said: “Joseph brings a wealth of experience to HSBC, with two decades of in-depth knowledge of the downstream energy sector. Combined with his expertise in low carbon related activities such as clean energy tech, Joseph will be pivotal to our business as the world becomes more aware of the impact of climate change. His insights into environmental trends as well as opportunities in the utilities sector will be invaluable for our clients.”
Prior to joining HSBC, Mr. Jacobelli was the Group Director, Carbon Ventures at CLP Holdings in Hong Kong, where he was responsible for all group-wide low carbon activities including renewables, carbon credits and investments in low carbon technologies. He has also held senior research positions at other global leading financial institutions. Mr. Jacobelli started his career at as a financial analyst in Hong Kong in 1990.
