Richard Dawson joins KPMG as Asia's Head of Debt Advisory
Richard will be based in Hong Kong as he builds a team to establish and grow the debt advisory business in China and Hong Kong.
According to KPMG, prior to joining them, Richard worked for fourteen years at RBS and ABN AMRO. Most recently he was Head of Corporate & Structured Debt Capital Markets for RBS in Asia Pacific and previously as Global Head of Syndicated Loans at ABN AMRO.
Honson To, Head of Transactions & Restructuring, KPMG China, says: "Richard brings extensive transaction experience in the debt capital markets, structured and acquisition finance and debt advisory in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the Americas."
"With Richard's arrival and the formal establishment of this practice, Asia will join KPMG's global network of successful Debt Advisory practices spanning the Americas, Europe and Australia. Debt Advisory will form an important part of KPMG's strategy of owning the M&A life cycle."
Richard says of his appointment: "The size and complexity of the debt markets continue to grow and the flows of capital are becoming more and more international. This is particularly significant in Asia where the volume and the value of cross border trade, capital investment and acquisitions rise unabated."
"Many borrowers and issuers are seeking objective financing advice, independent of the sources of finance and across the debt products. I strongly believe that KPMG is in a unique position to provide this strategic advice, and I am excited to have the opportunity to build the business in Asia."
