Sun Life Financial names Jason Dehni as Hong Kong CEO
He will succeed Wim Hekstra.
Sun Life Financial has announced the appointment of Jason Dehni as Chief Executive Officer of Sun Life Hong Kong, effective May 2016, subjected to regulatory approval.
According to a release from Sun Life Financial, in his new role, Dehni will be responsible for growing the Sun Life Hong Kong business, which includes both an individual life and an industry-leading pensions and award winning MPF business.
“Hong Kong is a market where we have been doing business for more than 120 years and it remains a critical part of our growth strategy in Asia,” said Kevin Strain, President, Sun Life Financial Asia. “We are extremely pleased that Jason will be joining us and I am confident that with his background, expertise and enthusiasm, Jason will continue the great momentum we have built in Hong Kong over the past few years,” added Strain.

Dehni joins Sun Life from another leading multi-national insurance company where he was in a regional role as the Chief Distribution Officer & Chief Marketing Officer across 10 markets.
In this role, Dehni worked closely with Country CEOs to drive productivity and transformational programs in agency, bancassurance and alternative distribution channels across the region, as well as having direct responsibility for the brand sponsorship, communication, customer experience, analytics, digital innovation, and product strategy.
Prior to moving to Hong Kong, Dehni was based with same company in Canada where he was the Senior Vice President and Head of Corporate Strategy, spanning Asia, Canada and the US. Dehni will take over from Wim Hekstra who is returning home to his native country of the Netherlands.
