8 food items failed safety measures
It didn't meet chemical and microbiological requirements.
According to a report, eight food samples - including vegetables, fresh chicken, an aquatic product, Chinese cold dishes and pork sauce - failed to pass Centre for Food Safety tests last month.
The centre tested a total of 8,500 samples with an overall satisfactory rate of 99.9%. The unsatisfactory samples failed to pass chemical and microbiological tests, according to the food safety report for March released today.
About 2,400 food samples had been taken for chemical tests, 1,100 for microbiological tests, and the remaining 5,000 - including about 4,600 samples taken from food imported from Japan- for radiation-level testing.
