Closure order lifted for fish portion of store in Tsuen Wan
The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene today lifted the closure order imposed earlier on the fish portion of a PARKnSHOP Superstore in Tsuen Wan.
The fish portion of the fresh provision shop, located at Shop F201, 1/F, Phase II, Smartlands, Tsuen Wan Town Lot 247, was closed on September 19 following detection of Vibrio cholerae O1 El Tor serotype Ogawa in a water sample collected from one of its fish tanks, according to spokesman for the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department.
"The shop operator has taken remedial measures, including thorough cleaning and disinfection of the filtration and disinfection system of the fish tanks," he stated.
The spokesman said that during the FEHD's latest inspection the hygiene conditions of the fresh provision shop were found to be satisfactory. Together with the satisfactory test result of a follow-up fish tank water sample, the FEHD considered that there was no longer an immediate health hazard on the premises.
Consequently, the Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene today decided to rescind the closure order for the portion selling fish in that shop and allow it to resume operation with immediate effect.
