Dah Chong Hong takes over Bayern Gourmet Food
The HK$72mn purchase will further strengthen DCH’s position in the food business.
Dah Chong Hong Holdings Limited (“DCH”) on Wednesday said it acquired of 100% interest in Bayern Gourmet Food Co. Ltd. (“Bayern Gourmet Food” or “BGF”) at a consideration of HK$71,767,000, subject to adjustment in accordance with the sale & purchase agreement if required.
Bayern Gourmet Food was held as to 90% by Hopewell Holdings Limited and 10% by the general manager of BGF before the acquisition. Founded in 1991, BGF provides a wide variety of processed food, such as ham, sausage and smoked seafood. It caters for the needs of hotels, restaurants, quick service outlets, airline catering, supermarkets, cruise ships, food catering outlets, distributors and trading companies, mainly in Hong Kong and Macao, according to a Dah Chong Hong report.
Mr Hui Ying Bun, Chairman of DCH said, “We are very pleased to have BGF joining our Group. BGF is well equipped with the latest technology in food processing and the right products and customers. It will compliment our existing food manufacturing and processing business and strengthen our total food supply chain positioning in Hong Kong as well as extending into mainland China market”.
