Quality Hong Kong-style cuisine introduced in Tokyo
About 70 representatives from the Japanese government, the business sector and the travel industry were invited to have a taste of a Hong Kong-style meal specially designed for the Hong Kong Food Festival in Tokyo.
Sharing the joy of having quality food with the guests at a lunch reception, the Principal Hong Kong Economic and Trade Representative (Tokyo), Ms Sally Wong, said food is an international language and sharing good food with friends from different parts of the world is a very civilised way of enhancing cultural exchange.
"I hope that all of the guests will, especially after tasting some delicious dishes here, be tempted to make an early trip to Hong Kong, where you can enjoy not only authentic Chinese food, but also almost any kind of international cuisine and the latest fusion cuisine that makes us truly a gourmet's paradise," she said.
Ms Wong added that apart from being a gourmet's paradise, Hong Kong was even more famous for being an international financial and business centre.
The lunch reception was hosted by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (Tokyo) in support of the food festival organised by the Hong Kong Tourism Board in Tokyo.
The festival in Tokyo, which is the third in a series of Hong Kong food festivals in Japan, is taking place throughout September.
