Two restaurants in Mong Kok to shut down
They repeatedly breached food business rules.
According to a report, the Food & Environmental Hygiene Department has ordered a restaurant in Mong Kok to suspend business for 21 days, and another in Wong Tai Sin for 14 days.
They repeatedly breached the Food Business Regulation by illegally extending the food business area and allowing staff to store food utensils in open space.
Encore Kitchen, on the ground floor of Fok Kwan Building in Mong Kok, was ordered to suspend business until August 10, while Tai Cheung, on the ground floor at No. 9 Tsz Wah Lane in Wong Tai Sin, was ordered to suspend business until August 3.
Four convictions for illegal extension of the food business area and allowing staff to store food utensils in open space were recorded against Encore Kitchen between February and April. It was fined $7,200 and registered 65 demerit points, resulting in seven-day and 14-day business suspensions running consecutively.
Tai Cheung was convicted twice for illegal extension of the food business area in January and May. It was fined $5,400 and registered 30 demerit points, resulting in the 14-day business suspension.
