Yuen Long Restaurant slapped with 30-day suspension
The Yuen Long Restaurant was ordered suspended from conducting business until March 29. The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene ordered the 30-day suspension.
Located at Shop 16 on the ground floor of Ho Wang Building at 11 Yu Wing Path, the restaurant's operator repeatedly extended food business illegally in breach of the Food Business Regulation.
"In June, September and October 2009 as well as February, March and May last year, a total of six convictions on the breach were recorded against the food premises," a spokesman for the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department said.
"A total fine of $21,000 was levied by the court and 90 demerit points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions, initially resulted in cancellation of the licence, led to suspension of business for 30 days following a decision made by the Licensing Appeals Board on the licensee's appeal," he added.
The spokesman reminded licensees of food premises to comply with the Food Business Regulation, or their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
