Hong Kong firm develops app for foodies
It’s a GPS-enabled social menu app.
Hong Kong-based startup dewPT said the app, which is named “dishi,” is for the iPhone and targets restaurants not run by chains in Hong Kong. An Android version will be available by the end of this November.
Users of the app can search their favorite dishes and see comments on them posted by people they know or follow. The company said dishi allows users to view only food-rated comments and ratings they want to know before they make an order.
The firm has collected menus from 20,000 restaurants and provides data about 800,000 dishes available from eateries in Hong Kong. It took dewPT two years to collect the menus manually.
