Government recalls 2 Chinese medicines
Beware of Feering 2 in 1 and Kasamutom.
According to a report, the Department of Health today ordered Ching Chung Yuk Po to recall two registered proprietary Chinese medicines - Feering 2 in 1 (registration number: HKP-02633) and Kasamutom (registration number: HKP-02639).
They were found to have microbial content exceeding the registration criteria set out by the Chinese Medicine Council’s Chinese Medicines Board.
The company was the sole manufacturer of these medicines in Hong Kong. They were produced before the factory ceased operation in 2011.
The manufacturer has set up a telephone hotline on 2333 3912 to answer public enquiries.
The department will work with the Department of Justice for prosecution matters and will also refer to the Chinese Medicine Council for possible disciplinary action.
