North Lantau Hospital starts operations on 24 September
Specialty services to be offered soon.
According to a report, the North Lantau Hospital will start patient services in phases from September 24 to cope with Tung Chung district's development and meet the community’s medical needs.
In the initial phase, accident and emergency services will be provided from 9am to 5pm daily while allied health services and community services will also commence.
Two new specialist out-patient clinics for medicine and psychiatry and the new Community Health Centre will start from September 30.
The accident and emergency services will be extended in phases to 24 hours according to service demand and operational arrangements. Other specialty services such as surgery, orthopaedics and traumatology, paediatrics and gynaecology will also be provided at different stages.
Upon full operation, the hospital will provide a total of 160 in-patient beds and 20 day beds, with a range of services including in-patient care, day hospital services and community nursing care.
