Ping An's CT imaging vehicle at Wuhan to help treat pneumonia related to 2019 nCov
Medical staff can perform lung CT scans faster for patients in quarantine.
Ping An Insurance has deployed its mobile computerised tomographic (CT) imaging vehicle to Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University to help with the diagnosis and treatment of pneumonia associated with the 2019 novel coronavirus, according to a press release.
The vehicle provides a 64-slice CT imaging scan, which is said to be the primary method to screen and diagnose nCov-related pneumonia. The mobile CT imaging vehicle uses smart tubes with quadruple acquisition technology, which can increase the amount of data fourfold even when the radiation exposure remains unchanged, and thus increase the application efficiency of X-ray.
Frontline medical staff will be able to perform lung CT scans speedily for patients in quarantine, the announcement said.
Ping An further notes that the vehicle complies with China’s standards such as Requirements for Radiological Protection in Medical X-ray Diagnosis, Radiological Protection Requirements for X-ray Computed Tomography and Radiological Protection Requirements for Medical X-ray Diagnostic System Installed on Vehicle.
Ping An Healthcare Diagnostics Center has also offered the CT equipment equivalent to Grade III Level A hospitals, as well as remote film reading and online professional guidance to frontline staff, the announcement added.
