11 human cases of H7N9 virus reported
They are all from Mainland.
In a report, the Centre for Health Protection has learned from the National Health & Family Planning Commission last 14 April of two human cases of Influenza A (H7N9) in Henan, four in Zhejiang, three in Shanghai and two in Jiangsu.
The two cases in Henan involve two men aged 34 and 65. They are receiving treatment in hospital. Their 19 close contacts have no symptoms.
The four cases in Zhejiang involve two women aged 64 and 62 and two men aged 75 and 79. All are receiving treatment in hospital.
The three cases in Shanghai involve three men aged 73, 54 and 78. They are receiving treatment in hospital. Their 25 close contacts have no symptoms.
The two cases in Jiangsu involve two men aged 50 and 26 who are receiving treatment in hospital. Their 29 close contacts have no symptoms.
As of 9pm on 14 April, a total of 60 cases have been confirmed to have Influenza A (H7N9) in Shanghai (24 cases), Jiangsu (16 cases), Zhejiang (15 cases), Anhui (two cases), Beijing (one case) and Henan (two cases).
No human case of Influenza A (H7N9) has been identified in Hong Kong.
