Gov’t clarifies elderly care vouchers coverage

The vouchers do not cover online/telemedicine services.

The Department of Health advised seniors that they must receive healthcare services in person when using their Elderly Health Care Voucher (EHCV).

Services provided by designated outpatient medical centers, medical service departments of the University of Hong Kong-Shenzhen Hospital and the Huawei Li Zhi Yuan Community Health Center are covered by the EHCV.

Violation of the voucher scheme rules will be strictly apprehended with appropriate legal action.

The government has also launched a pilot scheme to extend the voucher coverage to about 5 suitable medical institutions in the GBA and include dental service points near places such as Shenzhen.
