Hong Kong signed health pact agreement with Shenzhen
The agreement will enhance co-operation on quarantine and health measures at boundary control points.
According to Hong Kong Information Services Department, the agreement was signed by Dr PY lam, Director of Health, and Senzhen Entry-Exit Inspection & Quarantine Bureau Director-General Liu Shengli.
The agreement aims to prevent the spread of communicable diseases, and strengthen co-operation on prevention and control.
The agreement also introduces a two-tier communication mechanism for communicable diseases at boundary control points and sets up an emergency medical aides mechanism for participants at checkpoints or athlete villages in case of major communicable disease outbreaks.
Both sides will conduct an exercise on major public health issues at boundary checkpoints and arrange for the departure or transfer of injured or sick athletes to Hong Kong for treatment.
