Penny’s Bay Quarantine Center to launch as community isolation facility

This comes as the government reported 351 cases today.

Penny’s Bay Quarantine Center is set to start its service as a community isolation facility as early as next week for patients with mild to no COVID-19 symptoms. 

The announcement follows a count of 351 Covid-19 cases recorded on 5 February.

Home quarantine arrangements will also be implemented by next at the earliest.

“We will only put those who have a similar risk level at the same location. For example, the household members of the close contacts, they could conduct a four-day quarantine at home together, whereas the close contacts would be still undergoing a 14-day quarantine at the quarantine centres,” said Dr. Ronald Lam, Director of Health. 

Taken into account for the home quarantine arrangement is a risk assessment, including whether the person's dwelling place is suitable for quarantine as well as their age and vaccination status.
