Prudential partners with MyDoc to launch new telemedicine services
The new services will be integrated to the Pulse by Prudential mobile app.
Prudential Hong Kong Limited is partnering with digital healthcare provider MyDoc to launch new telemedicine services on its Pulse by Prudential mobile app.
Introduced in Hong Kong in March 2020, Pulse is a digital health buddy on-the-go which offers health tips and real-time information for its users.
The app will now let users schedule video consultations with a locally licensed doctor, obtain electronic prescriptions and electronic medical certifications, as well as receive delivery of prescribed medicine within four hours at the comfort of their homes.
The partnership will leverage MyDoc’s panel of Hong Kong-licensed doctors and pharmacy partners for Pulse users. MyDoc’s current doctors have 12 years clinical experience and are specifically certified for online consultations. In addition to common symptoms such as colds, flus, sinusitis and respiratory tract infections, they have also been trained to assess if an individual is suspected to have COVID-19 in a virtual setting.
The doctor consultation fee is $200 and medication delivery fee varies from $50 to $80, including up to three days of standard medicine which a general medical practitioner may prescribe and a one-time delivery service. Delivery of medication will be made within four hours of the consultation.
According to Prudential, the new services come at the back of intense pressure on Hong Kong’s public health services, as well as a growing appetite among the public for digital health solutions as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic
