HKTB GCC 2024 Travel Mission records 124% increase in visitors
The mission engaged travel partners from UAE and KSA.
The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) concluded its first GCC 2024 Travel Mission to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), welcoming 19,273 visitors, a 124% increase from the previous year.
The mission, which took place between 7 to 9 October 2024 in Riyadh and Dubai, engaged travel partners from the United Arab Emirates and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Also a highlight was a roadshow featuring 30 Hong Kong trade partners that attracted over 200 GCC travel agents.
As part of its tourism marketing strategy, HKTB aims to position Hong Kong as a premium destination through various B2B and B2C activities. Some of these strategies include strategic partnerships with leading GCC brands, developing a book of information for Muslim travellers, and regular participation in trade shows in GCC.
In the coming months, Hong Kong will host several large-scale events. Muslim travellers will be offered Halal food options, prayer room facilities, and Muslim-friendly hotels.
