Hong Kong, Indonesia to boost education ties

According to a release, Secretary for Education Eddie Ng met his Indonesian counterpart and agreed to strengthen Hong Kong's education ties with Indonesia.
Concluding his trip to the country today, Mr Ng met Minister of Education & Culture Mohammed Nuh, who said there are plans to send an Indonesian delegation to Hong Kong next year to further enhance bilateral co-operation and exchange.
They agreed their two jurisdictions should strengthen educational ties with each other in various aspects, such as further studies, research, teacher training and student exchange.
Mr Ng later visited the Regional Centre for Quality Improvement of Teachers & Education Personnel in Language, under the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organisation.
Tonight he will join a dinner reception hosted by Hong Kong's Po Leung Kuk for 100 teachers and students of its secondary schools, who are visiting Jakarta as part of their cross-country study tour.
