Lasting around six to 12 months, the youth employment programme aims to encourage employers to provide quality on-the-job training to young Hong Kongers.
The maximum monthly on-the-job training allowance payable to employers will also be raised from $3,000 to $4,000 per trainee in order to encourage employers to provide different kinds of training positions and expose young job seekers to various employment options.
The revised training allowance will be 50% of the trainee's monthly salary, subject to a ceiling of $4,000 per month, payable for a period of six to 12 months.
