Civil servants might receive up to 4.65% wage hike

The chief executive would consider the city's economic state before the pay adjustment.

Civil servants may enjoy up to a 4.65% wage increase this year, the Civil Service Bureau stated.

This comes after the recent 2023 Pay Trend Survey revealed that an employee's salary could go up to 5.68%.

Permanent Secretary for the Civil Service Clement Leung said that the net pay trend indicators for the upper, middle, and lower salary bands would be 2.87%, 4.65%, and 4.5%, respectively, after deducting the civil service payroll cost of increments from the respective gross pay trend indicators.

Leung added that the Chief Executive-in-Council would consider the state of the city's economy, changes in the cost of living, the Government's fiscal position, the net pay trend indicators, the pay claims of the staff, and civil service morale in deciding the pay adjustment.
