Gov’t launches corporate internship scheme

Twenty four companies will participate in the scheme’s latest round.

The government launched a new round of the Scheme for Corporate Summer Internships on the Mainland and Overseas.

The 24 companies that will be participating in the scheme’s new round will offer more than 320 internship placements in Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Chengdu, Chongqing, and several cities in the Greater Bay Area, as well as in Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, the UK, and Sweden.

The internship placements will cover industries such as financial services, innovation and technology, logistics, property development, retail, hospitality, and public utilities.

The scheme is open to Hong Kong residents who are post-secondary students taking up either a sub-degree, undergraduate, or postgraduate programme.

The internship will take place between June and September of this year and will last for no less than six weeks.

According to Alice Mak, Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs, the scheme will groom Hong Kong’s young talents “with an understanding of the country's development and a global perspective through the concerted efforts of the Government and corporates.”
