Hong Kong and China join forces to boost IT collaboration

Under the National 12th Five-Year Plan will also explore further collaboration between the laboratories of Mainland and Hong Kong approved under the Partner State Key Laboratory Programme.

Permanent Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development (Communications & Technology) Elizabeth Tse and Commissioner for Innovation & Technology Janet Wong will lead a Hong Kong delegation on a four-day visit to Beijing on Tuesday, to promote co-operation between the Mainland and Hong Kong in innovation and technology.

In Beijing the two officials will meet with the Ministry of Science & Technology to discuss Mainland-Hong Kong collaboration on science and technology under the National 12th Five-Year Plan, according to a government report.

They will also explore further collaboration between the laboratories approved under the Partner State Key Laboratory Programme in the two places. Twelve laboratories in Hong Kong are partners in the programme.
The delegation will visit partner laboratories in Beijing and the Zhongguancun National Innovation Demonstration Zone on April 14 and 15.
