Hong Kong has its first OpenStack hybrid cloud
New public cloud launched by Rackspace Hosting.
Ajit Melarkode, managing director of Rackspace Asia Pacific said Rackspace is excited to launch the region’s first hybrid cloud powered by OpenStack.
“Hong Kong was the obvious choice for the regional base of our hybrid cloud offering,” said Melarkode. “Businesses here are among the Asia-Pacific leaders in cloud adoption.”
The Rackspace hybrid cloud encompasses a public cloud, a private cloud and dedicated servers working alone or together in any combination in a unified infrastructure.
It enables businesses to tailor their architecture to create the best fit for their unique set of applications and workloads. The Rackspace cloud comes with service-level-agreements and 24x7x365 support for all types of businesses and industries.
Analysts said the hybrid cloud provides a massive opportunity as demand for cloud services continues to increase rapidly throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
Rackspace is the founder of OpenStack, the standard open-source operating system for cloud computing.
Hybrid clouds enable businesses to run their workloads where they run most effectively, whether on the public cloud, a private cloud, dedicated servers, or a combination of these platforms.
