Smart City Digital Hub launched
It aims to accelerate the development of smart city solutions.
The Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Cooperation (HKSTP) and Siemens Limited opened the Smart City Digital Hub last December 7 which aims to fast track the development of smart city applications to respond to various city challenges like traffic congestion, public safety and urban planning.
According to a press release, the Hub acts as a laboratory that provides a space for experts to carry out research and development projects in the areas of data analytics, Internet of Things, connectivity, smart building, smart energy and smart mobility.
It will also provide start-ups and various infrastructure providers with a platform to create their digital portfolio.
The Hub is powered by Siemen’s MindSphere, a cloud-based IoT operating system.
“By leveraging Siemens’ cloud-based IoT platform and big data capabilities at Science Park’s Data Studio, we target to accelerate the development of smart city related digital analytics applications in Hong Kong and effectively tackle city challenges,” said HKSTP CEO Albert Wong.
