Beware of Valentine’s Day-related spam
It's on the rise since Feb2.
Valentine's Day represents one of the big shopping periods of the year. Online shoppers will be seen expressing their love this week as both online retailers and spammers continue to take steps to attract and convert shoppers. This year, Symantec has observed that Valentine’s Day spam messages offer unbelievable discounts on jewellery, dinning opportunities, and expensive gifts to shoppers.
This Valentine’s Day, establishing trust with consumers remains one of the most proven methods for ecommerce sites to generate more sales. While online retailers take measures to ensure their customer’s information is safe online, Symantec advises users to be cautious when handling unsolicited emails and to update antispam signatures regularly.
